The
New Coliseum Partners, headed by Ed Roski,
(one of the owners of The Staples Center,
LA Lakers, LA Kings, Majestic Realty) needed
to convince 32 NFL owners in Kansas City that
the next NFL team should be awarded to Los
Angeles, and play in the Coliseum in downtown
LA.
They went into the presentation with two strong
opponents: Mike Ovitz (heading the Hacienda
Stadium in Carson, California), and the City
of Houston.
A month before the presentation in Kansas
City, Mike Ovitz promised the press he'd be
unveiling an unprecedented multi-media presentation,
produced by Hollywood's biggest-gun special
effects artists.
